Research Projects
Interfacial properties and their role in evaporation dynamics in porous media
This project aims to investigate how surfactants influence evaporation dynamics in porous media by altering interfacial properties such as wettability and surface tension. Using a combination of experimental and computational modeling, the study will analyze how surfactants affect liquid flow, gas-liquid interface mobility, and evaporation rates. Experiments will be performed in microfluidic cells with controlled porous structures and advanced imaging techniques to observe liquid distribution in real time. A pore network model will be developed from imaging data to inform a continuum model, incorporating mixed wettability effects.
